The Herrmann Loft is a thrifty design-build which focused on renovating a fireplace and the kitchen. Existing skylight wells were enlarged to increase light and expose the rough timber structure. The fireplace was wrapped in steel floor plate and translucent acrylic over common 2 x 4’s. The kitchen features IKEA cabinets; a custom timber chandelier designed and fabricated by Alchemy illuminates the dining area.
